SoccerPlus Goalkeeper School Typical Day |
Morning
7:15am
Wake up and get ready for the day with a shower.
7:30-8:15am
Have breakfast
in the Dining Hall. Fruits, Cereal and Hot
Breakfast are all on the menu.
8:30am
Meet for the
first session of the day.
8:45am
Arrive at the fields. Get our gear on and start
off with a dynamic warm up, followed by
technical training that will lead into what
we're working on the rest of the day.
9:30am
Training both
the technical and tactical components of the
mornings topic. The training utilizes the
The DiCicco Method.
11:00am
Cool down and
core strengthening exercises.
11:15am
Back to the
dorm to drop our stuff before lunch.
11:45am-12:30pm
Lunch in the
Dining Hall. Salad and sandwiches are always
available as well as a hot entree. It's
important to use this opportunity to re-hydrate
and get some calories into the body to make up
for the fluids that were lost and the calories
that were burned during training.

Afternoon
12:30-2:30pm
Rest and
recovery in the dorm. The best way is to take a
nap and put your legs up to drain the lactic
acid. Have to continue to hydrate as well. This
might be a good time to catch up on some summer
reading as well. Camp Store is open.
2:30pm
Meet for the afternoon
training session.
2:45pm
After a proper warm up, functional training to
build on the morning's training session and to
provide an opportunity to train in a positive
and match-related environment. Coaches will work
with you to identify what makes you special and
help you improve on some weaknesses.
4:30pm
Cool down and
abdominals. The walk to the dorm is a great
chance to talk to your Staff Coach about his/her
experiences or to ask for advice.
5:00-5:45pm
Dinner. After all the work put in during the
day, this is an important meal. Proper hydration
and nutrition are covered early in the week
because they are such crucial elements to
maximizing the week at SoccerPlus. Camp Store is
open.

Evening
6:45pm
Meet with the
group for the evening's games.
7:00pm
Warm up,
explanation of the rules, break up into teams
and play. As Tony would say, "When you train
hard, you earn the right to play well."
8:30pm
Back to the dorm to get a
shower and clean up.

Night
9:15pm
Meeting time
for the walk to our classroom or meeting space.
9:30-10:15pm
Evening
Workshops are designed to provide useful
information, insights and preparation for the
next days training session, the next tournament
you attend or the next game you watch.
Developing a deeper understanding of the game is
an important aspect of player development, this
time is to supplement what is taught on the
field.
10:30pm
Back to the dorm for Pizza
($10 for a Large) and to prepare for bed and
call home.
11:00pm
Lights out;
cell phones off. Get a good night's sleep. |
